About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis specific to the SaaS industry. This role is critical in shaping our financial landscape and requires a forward-thinking leader with a hands-on approach to drive financial excellence.  

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll interface with the Executive Leadership team and play a vital role in supporting executive decision-making, evaluating growth opportunities, and optimizing our financial strategy. 

You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Tech, Product, Sales, Marketing, and HR, to provide insights that shape our strategic priorities. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about SaaS metrics and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

In this role you will work from your home office, primarily on EST hours.  You may be required to travel up to 2 weeks per quarter for leadership team meetings and offsites.
 

Results Expected

  • Financial Strategy Development: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with company goals, focusing on scalability, profitability, and cash flow management.
  • Revenue and Cost Forecasting: Build sophisticated forecasting models to track revenue, operating expenses, cash flow and headcount across departments. Provide detailed variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Budgeting and Planning: Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast processes, working with department heads to set realistic targets, align on resource allocation, and prepare the company for future growth.
  • Performance Reporting: Oversee weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, offering clear reports and insightful commentary for the executive team and Board.
  • KPI Tracking: Establish and monitor KPIs related to SaaS performance, including ARR, CARR, CAC, CLTV, and customer churn. Provide timely reports and recommendations based on these metrics.
  • Capital Efficiency: Partner with the CFO to optimize capital structure, ensuring the company has sufficient cash flow and funding for strategic growth initiatives.
  • AI Readiness: You will help lead the Finance team’s technology evolution by leading our efforts to utilize AI and other productivity tools
 

Competencies 

  • Financial and Analytical Acumen: Advanced expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis, particularly within a SaaS company. Experience in understanding and applying SaaS metrics is essential.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: A relentless desire to intelligently get to the bottom of any analysis to fully understand issues and opportunities.
  • Leadership and Influence: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a team (currently three direct reports), as well as collaborate with senior leaders across departments. Must be persuasive and capable of driving initiatives that align with overall business goals.
  • Operational Focus: Skilled in developing and implementing scalable processes and systems, ideally with experience in high-growth environments. Advanced in financial software, ERP systems, and Excel.
